Freddie James Prinze Jr. (born March 8, 1976) is an American actor. He has starred in many popular films. These include I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) and its sequels, She's All That (1999), and the Scooby-Doo movies (2002, 2004).
Freddie Prinze Jr. has also been in TV shows like Boston Legal and 24. He had his own sitcom called Freddie (2005–2006). Many fans know his voice as Kanan Jarrus from the Disney XD series Star Wars Rebels (2014–2018). He is the only child of the famous actor and comedian Freddie Prinze.

Early life and beginnings
Freddie James Prinze Jr. was born in Los Angeles, California, on March 8, 1976. His mother is Katherine Elaine Prinze, and his father was the actor and stand-up comedian Freddie Prinze.
After his father passed away in 1977, Freddie Jr. and his mother moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. He grew up Catholic and can speak Spanish fluently. His paternal grandmother was from Puerto Rico. As a child, Freddie enjoyed acting in school plays. He also took part in the Albuquerque Children's Theatre. Even though he first thought about becoming a civil engineer, he soon found his passion for acting. After finishing La Cueva High School in 1994, he moved to Los Angeles to try out for TV roles.

Early roles in TV and movies
Freddie Prinze Jr. started his acting career in 1995. He had a guest role on the TV show Family Matters. After that, he appeared in a few other TV programs and movies made for television. His first movie role was in To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday in 1996.
He became well-known to teenage audiences through his roles in movies like I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) and its sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998). His first main role was in the romantic comedy She's All That (1999). This movie was very popular and earned a lot of money.

He continued to star in movies such as Wing Commander (1999), Down to You (2000), Boys and Girls (2000), Head over Heels (2001), and Summer Catch (2001).
Playing Fred in Scooby-Doo
One of his most famous roles was playing Fred Jones in the live-action Scooby-Doo movie in 2002. He played Fred again in the sequel, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, in 2004. In these movies, he acted alongside his wife Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played Daphne.
TV shows and voice acting
Freddie Prinze Jr. also made a guest appearance on the popular TV show Friends. He played a sensitive male nanny named Sandy. He also appeared in the legal drama Boston Legal.
From 2005 to 2006, Prinze starred in his own TV sitcom called Freddie. This show was based on some real events from his life. He also lent his voice to characters in animated films like Shark Bait (2006) and Happily N'Ever After (2007). In 2008, he voiced the main character in the animated movie Delgo.
In 2010, Prinze was a regular cast member for the eighth season of the TV show 24. He played Cole Ortiz, a new agent. In 2021, he joined the reboot of Punky Brewster, playing the main character's ex-husband.
Voice acting in video games and Star Wars
Freddie Prinze Jr. has also done a lot of voice work for video games. He voiced Lieutenant James Vega in Mass Effect 3 and The Iron Bull in Dragon Age: Inquisition.
From 2014 to 2018, he was the voice of Kanan Jarrus. Kanan was one of the last surviving Jedi Knights in the Disney XD series Star Wars Rebels. He also voiced Kanan in the opening scene of the Disney+ series The Bad Batch in May 2021.

Professional wrestling involvement
Freddie Prinze Jr. is a big fan of WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment). He has been seen at WWE events on TV. He even worked for WWE as part of their creative team from 2008 to 2009. He helped write stories for their weekly TV shows.
In August 2009, Prinze appeared on Raw as a special guest host. He later returned to WWE in 2010 as a producer and director.
Podcasts and new ventures
In November 2021, Prinze started his own podcast called Wrestling With Freddie. In March 2023, he launched another podcast, That Was Pretty Scary, with cohost Jon Lee Brody.
In April 2023, Freddie Prinze Jr. became part of the ownership team for Premier Streaming Network. This is a streaming platform that focuses on wrestling, sports, and entertainment. In June 2024, he was announced as part of the ownership team for MyFandom. This is an iOS app where sports fans can share their own media to create a history of sporting events.
Personal life

Freddie Prinze Jr. married actress Sarah Michelle Gellar on September 1, 2002, in Mexico. They first met while filming I Know What You Did Last Summer in 1997. They started dating in 2000 and got engaged in April 2001.
The couple has worked together on several projects. They co-starred in the Scooby-Doo movies (2002, 2004) and lent their voices to Happily N'Ever After (2006) and Star Wars Rebels (2014–2018).
Freddie and Sarah have two children. Their daughter was born in September 2009, and their son was born in September 2012. They live in Los Angeles.
Freddie Prinze Jr. is also very active in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He has achieved the rank of purple belt in this martial art.
