Golden Beach is a small town in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. It is located between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. This town is part of the larger Miami metropolitan area in South Florida. In 2020, a census showed that 961 people lived there.
Golden Beach is known as a very fancy community. Many of its homes are worth a lot of money. Some famous people, like Bill Gates, own houses in this town. The musician Eric Clapton even named his album 461 Ocean Boulevard after a house in Golden Beach. A picture of this house is on the album cover. The town does not allow tall buildings or big businesses to be built within its borders.
In 1981, almost all roads leading into Golden Beach from A1A were closed. This was done to keep out unwanted visitors. The blockades are still there today. The Strand remains the only road into town and is watched by a police guardhouse.

The town sits on a barrier island. This island separates the Intracoastal Waterway from the Atlantic Ocean. Golden Beach is about one mile long from north to south. It is also about four blocks wide from east to west.

To the south, Golden Beach borders the city of Sunny Isles Beach. To the west, it is next to the city of Aventura. To the north, it touches the city of Hallandale Beach in Broward County. The U.S. Census Bureau says the town covers 0.42 square miles. Of this, 0.33 square miles is land, and 0.09 square miles (21.45%) is water.

Education in Golden Beach
The Miami-Dade County Public Schools system provides education for students in Golden Beach.
All students living in Golden Beach attend Norman S. Edelcup/Sunny Isles Beach K-8 school. This school is located in Sunny Isles Beach and serves students from kindergarten through 8th grade. Before August 2008, students went to Highland Oaks Elementary School. Students who prefer a regular middle school instead of a K-8 school can choose to go to Highland Oaks Middle School. The zoned high school for Golden Beach is Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Senior High Biscayne Bay Campus. Before Mourning High opened in 2009, Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High School served the area.
