Early Directing Work (2005–2010)

It was a new version of a 1953 movie with the same name. The movie starred Elisha Cuthbert, Chad Michael Murray, and Paris Hilton. Even though some critics didn't like it, the movie made a lot of money.

Two years later, Collet-Serra directed Goal II: Living the Dream. This was the second movie in the Goal! film series. It followed the story of a Mexican football player named Santiago Muñez. In this film, Santiago goes to play for the famous team Real Madrid.

Jaume Collet-Serra also started his own film company called Ombra Films. With money from StudioCanal, his company aimed to make smaller, English-language horror films. The goal was to help new Spanish filmmakers start their careers. His producing partner, Juan Sola, explained that they wanted to create a way for talented Spanish directors to work in films.
