Changes Over Time: Merging Municipalities
On January 1, 2011, Linthal joined with several other nearby villages. These included Betschwanden, Braunwald, Elm, Engi, Haslen, Luchsingen, Matt, Mitlödi, Rüti, Schwanden, Schwändi, and Sool. All these places became part of a new, larger municipality called Glarus Süd. This merger helped combine resources and services for the whole region.
