In June 2024, Pezeshkian wore an IRGC uniform during a meeting. He said he would wear it again because the IRGC helps keep the country united.
On Protests in Iran
Pezeshkian has sometimes criticized how the Iranian system handles things. During the 2009 protests, he spoke about how protesters were treated. He said people should not be treated "like a wild animal."
He believed Iran's way of dealing with the 2018 protests was wrong. He said the country's system was responsible for the problems. After the 2022 protests, Pezeshkian asked for a team to investigate the death of Mahsa Amini. He felt that how protesters were handled and tried was against the constitution. He asked that defendants should have lawyers. However, he later released a statement condemning the protests. He said they were not good for the people.
On Foreign Policy

On Ethnic Groups and Women's Rights
Pezeshkian cares about the rights of different ethnic groups in Iran. These include Azeris, Kurds, and Baluchis. He says their rights should be protected. He supports applying Article 15 of the Iranian Constitution for all ethnic groups. This article states that while Persian is the official language, local languages can be used in media and taught in schools. He believes this helps prevent groups from wanting to separate. Pezeshkian also supports teaching the Azerbaijani language in Iranian schools.
Pezeshkian has increased the number of women and people from different ethnic and religious backgrounds in his government. He promised this during his election campaign. He appointed two women as Vice Presidents and one woman as a minister. He also appointed a woman as the government's spokesperson. He chose a Sunni politician as Vice President of Rural Development. This was the first time a Sunni had such a high position. Many women have also been appointed as governors across the country.
