Moel Hebog is a mountain in Snowdonia, North Wales. Its name means Bare Hill of the Hawk in the Welsh language. This mountain is a famous sight, especially when you look west from the village of Beddgelert. It is part of a larger group of peaks in Snowdonia, including the Nantlle Ridge and Mynydd Mawr.
From one side, Moel Hebog looks rocky and has a sharp, pointed top. But from other directions, it appears more rounded. The rocks on the mountain are very old and interesting. Many students who study geology (the science of rocks and the Earth) visit Moel Hebog to learn more. Much of the mountain is made of a type of rock called rhyolitic tuff, which formed from ancient volcanic ash.
