History of Mount Glorious

The name "Mount Glorious" came from a simple comment made during a picnic in 1915. A woman named Elizabeth Patrick looked at the amazing view and said it was "glorious." The name stuck!

Early Settlement

People started buying land on Mount Glorious in the early 1900s. The first piece of land was bought by James O'Hara in 1903. By 1921, more land was sold, with advertisements calling it "Crest Estate." This shows how the area slowly grew into a community.

Local Events

In November 1960, Mount Glorious was the center of a small earthquake. It was a 4.4 magnitude earthquake, which means it was strong enough to be felt but usually doesn't cause much damage.
