North Ridgeville is a city located in Lorain County, Ohio, United States. It's on the eastern side of the county. In 2020, about 35,280 people lived there.
North Ridgeville is part of the larger Cleveland metropolitan area. It is known as the fastest-growing city in northern Ohio. It has also been ranked as one of the safest cities in the United States.
The city is about 8 miles (13 km) from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. It is also about 18 miles (29 km) west of downtown Cleveland. North Ridgeville is the third-largest city in Lorain County. It is the 37th most populated city in Ohio.
North Ridgeville is home to a large Riddell Sports Group center. Here, helmets and pads for the National Football League and NCAA are made. The city also has a campus of Lorain County Community College. A branch of University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center is located here too.

History of North Ridgeville
The first people settled in the area that is now North Ridgeville in 1810. The village got its name from a ridge of land near where the town first started.
Two important historical buildings are in North Ridgeville. The former North Ridgeville Town Hall and the Samuel C. Cahoon House are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means they are recognized as important historical sites.
Geography and Location
North Ridgeville covers an area of about 23.58 square miles (61.07 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with a small part being water.

In 2010, the city had 29,465 people living in 11,500 households. About 8,486 of these were families. The city had about 1,257 people per square mile (485 per square kilometer). There were 12,109 housing units in total.
Most of the people in North Ridgeville were White (95.0%). Other groups included African American (1.5%), Native American (0.2%), and Asian (1.2%). About 3.3% of the population was Hispanic or Latino.
In 2010, about 32.1% of households had children under 18. Most households (61.3%) were married couples. The average age in the city was 40.7 years. About 23.1% of residents were under 18.
Arts and Fun Events
North Ridgeville is famous for its annual North Ridgeville Corn Festival. This festival started in 1975 to celebrate the United States' 200th birthday. The first festival was small, with only 13 booths. Money raised helped the local library move to a new building.
In 1976, the festival also honored Harold Sweet. He was a sweet corn farmer who did a lot for the city. Money from that festival helped buy trees for a new area and flags for City Hall. The committee that organized the festival was renamed the North Ridgeville Corn Festival Committee in 1977.
