Ricardo Andrade Quaresma Bernardo ComM is a famous Portuguese former football player. He was born on September 26, 1983. He was known for playing as a winger.
He started his career at Sporting CP and played for many big clubs. These included Barcelona, Inter Milan, and Porto. He also played for Chelsea and Beşiktaş. Quaresma was famous for his amazing tricks. These included the rabona and the trivela. The trivela is a special bending shot using the outside of his right foot. These skills made him very popular with fans.
Quaresma played for the Portuguese national team for 15 years. He played in 80 matches for his country. He took part in three European Championships. He was part of the team that won Euro 2016. He also played in the 2018 World Cup.

Ricardo Quaresma's Club Career
Starting at Sporting CP
Quaresma was born in Lisbon, Portugal. He joined Sporting CP's famous youth academy when he was young. At 17, he joined the main team for the 2001–02 season. He played 28 matches and scored three goals. His team won both the league and the cup that year.
In the next season, Quaresma scored five goals. However, his team finished in third place.
Moving to Barcelona
In 2003, Quaresma moved to Barcelona in Spain. He played in La Liga, Spain's top league. In his first year, he started ten games and came on as a substitute 12 times. He scored one goal in a big 5–0 win against Albacete.
Towards the end of that season, Quaresma hurt his right foot. This injury meant he missed some important tournaments. He later said he did not want to play for Barcelona if their manager, Frank Rijkaard, was still in charge.
Success at Porto
Quaresma joined Porto in the summer of 2004. He started his time at Porto very well. He scored the only goal in a win against Benfica in the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira. He also scored in the UEFA Super Cup match against Valencia.
In his first year at Porto, Quaresma scored five goals. The team finished second in the league. He also helped Porto win the Intercontinental Cup. He scored in the penalty shootout that led to an 8–7 victory.
Time at Inter Milan
On September 1, 2008, Quaresma joined Inter Milan in Italy. He scored in his first Serie A game against Catania. He used his famous trivela shot in a 2–1 home win. However, he did not play as much as he hoped. His coach, José Mourinho, wanted him to be more disciplined in his play.
In February 2009, Quaresma went on loan to Premier League club Chelsea. He played his first game for Chelsea on February 7. He helped Chelsea score a goal in an FA Cup match. He said that moving to Chelsea helped him feel more confident and happy about playing football again.
After returning to Inter, Quaresma did not play much. Inter went on to win many trophies that season.
Playing for Beşiktaş

On June 13, 2010, Quaresma moved to Beşiktaş in Turkey. He signed a three-year contract. He scored his first goal for them in a UEFA Europa League match. He was also a key player when Beşiktaş won the Turkish Cup. He scored in the final and was named the best player of the match.
Quaresma had some disagreements with his teammates and coach at Beşiktaş. He was later released from his contract in December 2012.
Short Spell at Al Ahli
On January 8, 2013, Quaresma signed with Al Ahli in the UAE Pro League. He scored two goals in ten league games. He also helped his team win the UAE President's Cup.
He left the club in May 2013.
Returning to Porto
Quaresma returned to Porto on January 1, 2014. Over 10,000 fans came to greet him at training. He scored in his first European match back with Porto. This was in the UEFA Europa League against Eintracht Frankfurt. He also scored important goals in other European games.
On April 15, 2015, Quaresma scored two goals in the first ten minutes against Bayern Munich. This was in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. Porto won that game 3–1.
Second Time at Beşiktaş
Quaresma returned to Beşiktaş in July 2015. Thousands of fans welcomed him at the airport. He said he wanted to win the league with the team. Beşiktaş won the Süper Lig in 2015–16 and 2016–17.
On February 26, 2018, Quaresma scored a fantastic trivela goal against Fenerbahçe. This was in the big Istanbul derby. He bent the ball into the top corner of the net. He scored two goals in that 3–1 win.
Later Career Years
On August 29, 2019, Quaresma joined Kasımpaşa in the Turkish top league. He played for one season there. He left the club in July 2020.
On September 7, 2020, Quaresma signed a two-year deal with Vitória de Guimarães in Portugal. He scored four goals and made six assists in his first year.
He played less in the 2021–22 season. In May 2022, he confirmed he was leaving Vitória.
Ricardo Quaresma's International Career
Quaresma won the UEFA European Under-16 Championship with Portugal in 2000. He played his first game for the senior national team on June 10, 2003. This was in a friendly match against Bolivia.
In February 2007, Quaresma played in a friendly against Brazil. He helped set up a goal in a 2–0 win and was named man of the match. On March 24, he scored his first goal for Portugal. This was in a 4–0 win against Belgium. He was chosen for UEFA Euro 2008. He scored a goal in a 3–1 win against the Czech Republic.
In August 2010, Quaresma was called up for two Euro 2012 qualifiers. He played the full game in a 4–4 draw against Cyprus. He was part of Portugal's team for the 2014 World Cup but did not play.
Quaresma scored a penalty goal in a friendly against France in October 2014. He was then picked for UEFA Euro 2016. He scored the only goal in a last-16 win against Croatia. Five days later, he scored the winning penalty in a shootout against Poland. In the final against hosts France, he came on as a substitute.
