Sara Paxton (born April 25, 1988) is an American actress and singer. She started acting when she was young. She had small parts in movies and TV shows. She became well-known in 2002.
Sara played Sarah Tobin in Greetings from Tucson (2002-2003). She was also the main character in Darcy's Wild Life (2004-2006). She played Sarah Borden in Summerland (2004). Her other movies include Aquamarine (2006) and Return to Halloweentown (2006). She also appeared in Sydney White (2007) and Superhero Movie (2008). Later films are The Last House on the Left (2009) and The Innkeepers (2011). She was also in The Front Runner (2018).

Early Life and School
Sara Paxton was born in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California. She is the only child of Lucia and Steve Paxton. Her mother, Lucia, was born in Monterrey, Mexico. Her father is of English and Scottish background. Both of her parents are dentists.
Sara grew up in the San Fernando Valley. She finished high school at El Camino Real High School in June 2006. In 2009, Sara shared that she got into several colleges. However, she chose to focus on her acting career instead.
Acting Career Highlights
Starting Out: 1997–2004
Sara Paxton has said that singing and acting went together for her when she was young. She first worked in musical theater. Then she started appearing in TV commercials. Her first movie role was a small part in the 1997 comedy Liar Liar.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, she had many TV and film roles. She did voice work for 15 episodes of the Nickelodeon show SpongeBob SquarePants. She also had a role on the soap opera Passions. Sara was a regular on the shows Greetings from Tucson and Action. She was a guest star on Disney Channel's Lizzie McGuire. She played Holly, a former school president.
In 2003, Sara starred in R. L. Stine's Haunted Lighthouse. This was a short 3D film that still plays at some theme parks. That same year, she played Lana Walker on CSI: Miami. Sara's first big role was in the teen movie Sleepover in 2004.
Sara was chosen for the main role in the Discovery Kids TV series, Darcy's Wild Life. She played Darcy Fields, a girl who works at a country veterinary clinic. The show was filmed on a farm in Toronto. It aired from 2004 to 2006. The show often featured Sara's song, "Take a Walk". She was nominated for an Emmy for this role in 2006.
Becoming Well-Known: 2005–2012
In 2005, Sara spent three months working on the movie Aquamarine. She played the main character, a mermaid named Aquamarine. She starred with Emma Roberts and JoJo. Sara said she felt a sense of "female empowerment" on set. This was because almost everyone working on the film was female. The movie came out on March 3, 2006.
Critics compared Sara to actress Reese Witherspoon. They said she had "infectious, nutty energy." Sara recorded a song for the movie's soundtrack called "Connected." This was an English version of a song by the Mexican group RBD. Sara signed a record deal with Epic Records around the time she was cast in Aquamarine. Her first music CD, The Ups and Downs, was planned but never released.
Sara hosted The Secret Life of Water in April 2006. This was the first episode of the series Planet H2O. The next month, after turning 18, she appeared on the TV show Pepper Dennis. She played a teen actress. Sara then appeared in Return to Halloweentown. She replaced another actress in this fourth movie in the Halloweentown series. She dyed her hair brown for the part. The movie aired on October 20, 2006.
Sara's next movie was Sydney White. This was a college comedy with Amanda Bynes. Filming started in February 2007, and the movie came out on September 21, 2007. She then starred in Superhero Movie, a funny movie that makes fun of superhero films. It was released on March 28, 2008. She sang backup vocals for her co-star Drake Bell's theme song for the movie.
Sara also starred in the movie The Last House on the Left. She played the main female character, Mari. The film was released on March 13, 2009.
Recent Roles: 2013–Present
Sara Paxton starred in the CW drama series The Beautiful Life. She was in it with Corbin Bleu and Mischa Barton. The show started on September 16, 2009, but it was canceled after only two episodes. It later aired online on YouTube. Sara then co-starred with Scott Eastwood in the thriller Enter Nowhere. She also had a main role in the Ti West film The Innkeepers.
She starred in the 2011 movie Shark Night. She then played Mirabella in the ABC Family movie Lovestruck: The Musical in 2013. In April 2016, it was announced that Sara joined the cast of David Lynch's 2017 Twin Peaks revival.
In 2018, she played Donna Rice with Hugh Jackman. This was in Jason Reitman's The Front Runner. It was a movie about politician Gary Hart. In 2018-2019, she played Amber Dooley in the NBC series Good Girls.
Sara has a supporting role in Andrew Dominik’s Blonde (2022). This movie is based on the book about Marilyn Monroe.
Personal Life
In 2013, Sara Paxton met Zach Cregger in Austin, Texas. They got married in October 2019.
