Shane Steven Harper (born February 14, 1993) is an American actor and singer. He is well-known for his roles as Spencer on the TV show Good Luck Charlie, Josh Wheaton in the movie God's Not Dead, and Victor Flynn on Power Book IV: Force.

Early Life and Beginnings
Shane Harper was born in La Jolla, a neighborhood in San Diego, California. His parents are Tanya and Scott Harper. He has a mix of backgrounds, including Austrian, German, Jewish, and Scottish.
Shane has an older sister, Samantha, who is also a professional dancer. His younger brother, Sullivan, is a model. Shane started dancing and acting when he was nine years old. He took part in local theater and dance competitions. He also began singing and learning to play guitar and piano at the same age.
He trained in many dance styles like ballet, hip-hop, lyrical, jazz, and tap. From ages four to twelve, he also studied martial arts and earned a black belt in Karate. In 2006, a talent agent saw him at a dance competition and offered to represent him.
Shane Harper's Career
Acting Roles
Shane Harper started his acting career with small roles as a dancer. He appeared in movies and shows like High School Musical 2, Re-Animated, and Dance Revolution. He then became one of the main dancers on Nickelodeon's Dance on Sunset.
In 2006, he was the lead dancer for the music video "Step Up" by Samantha Jade. He also appeared in Cartoon Network's Re-Animated. In 2010, Shane got his first movie roles in My Name is Khan and Flipped, playing smaller characters.
He also had a regular role as Spencer Walsh on Disney Channel's Good Luck Charlie, acting alongside Bridgit Mendler. He was a guest star on an episode of Wizards of Waverly Place. He also performed his song "One Step Closer" as a musical guest on So Random!. Later, he appeared in seven episodes of MTV's TV series Awkward as Austin Welch.
In March 2014, Shane starred in the Christian movie God's Not Dead. He played the main character, Josh Wheaton, a college student who has to prove to his atheist professor that God exists. For this movie, Shane wrote a song called "Hold You Up." This song encourages Christians to stand strong in their faith. The song became very popular, reaching number 1 on Billboard's Hot AC/CHR charts.
He played Brandon in the musical film Dance-Off, which was about two rival dance teams competing for a championship. Next, Shane starred as Ian Chandler in the short-lived MTV series Happyland. In 2015, he played Stephen in the family movie Lift Me Up.
In 2016, he played one of the disciples in the musical TV special The Passion on Fox. In 2017, Shane played Robbie in the TV movie Dirty Dancing for ABC. He also played Sam Grover in the indie film Flock of Four. He guest-starred in the CBS dramas Code Black and Wisdom of the Crowd.
In 2018, Shane returned as Josh Wheaton in God's Not Dead: A Light in Darkness, the third movie in the series. He also starred as Tom Paxton in the PixL movie The Time Capsule. In 2020, Shane played Junior in the Starz series Hightown and Logan Davis in the Hulu miniseries A Teacher.
Music Career
Shane Harper's first song, "Dance with Me," came out on March 30, 2010. Its music video showed Shane dancing and playing guitar. In 2011, he signed with AMi Records. He then released "One Step Closer," which was the second song from his first album. His self-titled album, Shane Harper, was released on April 12, 2011. The last song from this album was "Rocketship."
Also in 2011, Shane opened for Greyson Chance and Cody Simpson on their Waiting 4U Tour. He also opened for Miranda Cosgrove on her Dancing Crazy Tour. A special version of his album, with four extra songs, was released on February 14, 2012. In 2012, Shane released an EP (a shorter album) called Dancin in the Rain.
In 2016, Shane announced he had signed a new music deal with Capitol. On April 29, 2016, he shared on Twitter that he would join Jacob Whitesides on his "The Lovesick Tour." This tour ran from May to October. On May 27, 2016, Shane released another EP titled Like I Did. He released a music video for "Like I Did" on August 11, 2016.
Personal Life
Shane Harper was in a relationship with actress and singer Bridgit Mendler, who was also his co-star on Good Luck Charlie. They started dating in May 2011. However, in November 2015, Bridgit Mendler announced that they had ended their relationship.
Shane Harper is a devoted Christian.
