Kids Encyclopedia Facts

The TV Land Awards was a special TV show awards ceremony in the United States. Unlike the Emmys that celebrate new shows, the TV Land Awards mostly honored classic TV series and actors who were no longer on the air.

A producer named Michael Levitt created these awards. The TV Land network hosted and broadcast the show from 2003 to 2012. After a short break, it returned in 2015 and 2016. There hasn't been a TV Land Awards show since 2016.

The awards were given in different categories, which sometimes changed each year. People could even vote for some awards on the TV Land website! Awards went to both individual actors and entire television series. The cool award statues were made by a company in New York called Society Awards.

In 2013, TV Land announced they wouldn't have the awards that year. They said they still liked the idea but wouldn't produce the show. It also didn't happen in 2014. But the awards came back on April 18, 2015! For the 2016 show, the name changed to the "TV Land Icon Awards."
