Travis Fimmel is a famous actor from Australia. He is best known for playing Ragnar Lothbrok in the TV show Vikings (2013–2017). He also starred as Anduin Lothar in the movie Warcraft (2016). More recently, he played Marcus in the science fiction series Raised by Wolves (2020–2022) on HBO Max.

Early Life and Dreams
Travis Fimmel was born near Echuca, Victoria, Australia. He grew up in a place called Lockington. He is the youngest of three brothers. His mom, Jennie, worked with people with disabilities, and his dad, Chris, was a cattle farmer.
Travis always wanted to be a professional Australian rules footballer. He moved to Melbourne to play for the St Kilda Football Club. This team is part of the AFL. But he broke his leg before the season started, so he couldn't play.
He was accepted into RMIT for an architecture course. However, he decided to travel the world instead of starting college right away.
Becoming a Model
Travis Fimmel's modeling career started by chance. Someone saw him working out at a gym in Melbourne. This person knew a talent scout for a modeling agency. Travis then went to the United States. He was signed by the LA Models agency in 2002. He walked into their office with no money and no shoes!
He became the first male model to get a huge deal with Calvin Klein. He modeled for them for a whole year. He was the face of their Crave men's perfume. He also modeled their famous underwear.
Travis appeared on many magazine covers. These included Esquire, Rogue, and TV Guide. In 2012, he turned down an offer to be a judge on an Australian TV show called Make Me a Supermodel.
Acting Career
Early Roles (2001–2012)
Travis Fimmel started acting in music videos in 2001. He was in videos for Janet Jackson's "Someone to Call My Lover" and Jennifer Lopez's "I'm Real".
He learned acting from Ivana Chubbuck, a famous Hollywood coach. She also taught stars like Brad Pitt. Travis said it took him two years to be brave enough to try out for his first role. He felt that acting means being brave enough to show your feelings to others.
In 2003, he got the main role in Tarzan on The WB channel. He did most of his own stunts in the show. He also appeared in two other TV shows that were pilots (test episodes). These were Rocky Point in 2005 and Southern Comfort in 2006.
In 2008, he acted in the Australian movie Restraint. He also played a fun-loving character in Surfer, Dude with Matthew McConaughey. In 2010, he was a kind cowboy in Pure Country 2: The Gift. He also played a photographer in the Australian horror film Needle.
He played a talented piano player in Ivory. This independent film was shown at big film festivals in 2010. It also starred Martin Landau.
Travis played a prison guard named Helweg in the 2010 film The Experiment. The movie is based on a real-life experiment. It showed how quickly things can go wrong when people are put in extreme situations.
In 2009, Travis starred with Patrick Swayze in the TV series The Beast. Travis played Ellis Dove, a new FBI agent working undercover. The show stopped after 13 episodes because Patrick Swayze passed away. In 2010, Travis played a person on the run in two episodes of NBC's Chase.

Big Success and Movies (2013–2019)
Travis Fimmel became very well-known for his lead role in Vikings. This popular drama series started in 2013. It tells the story of the powerful Norsemen (Vikings) who explored and traded long ago. Travis played a character based on Ragnar Loðbrók, a famous Viking leader. Ragnar wanted to explore new lands. USA Today said Travis's acting was "engaging." The Huffington Post called it his "breakout role."
In 2016, Travis starred as military leader Anduin Lothar in Warcraft. This movie was based on the popular Warcraft video game. During filming, a horse got scared and fell on Travis while he was doing a stunt. Luckily, he was not hurt.
He also played a unique character in the romantic comedy Maggie's Plan. He was a loving but not very responsible dad in Lean on Pete.
In 2017, GQ Australia named him Actor of the Year.
Travis was the main actor in Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan. He played Major Harry Smith. This movie tells the true story of 108 Australian and New Zealand soldiers. They fought against about 2,000 North Vietnamese soldiers in the Vietnam War.
He also starred with Margot Robbie in the movie Dreamland. He played a deputy sheriff. The story is about a teenage boy trying to catch a bank robber to save his family's farm.
TV and Film Balance (2020–Present)
In 2020, Travis Fimmel was a TV presenter in Here Are the Young Men. This movie is about three friends after high school.
From 2020 to 2022, he returned to TV in Raised by Wolves on HBO Max. This science fiction show was directed by Ridley Scott. Travis played Caleb/Marcus, a soldier with a mysterious past. He was nominated for an award for this role. The story is set in a new society after a war caused by religious differences.
In the 2021 action movie Die in a Gunfight, Travis played a killer. Forbes magazine said he was amazing in every scene.
Travis played a genius inventor in the science fiction film Zone 414. It was set in a city with advanced robots. He also appeared in Delia's Gone. This movie is about a man trying to prove he didn't kill his sister.
In One Way, Travis played a mysterious passenger. He meets a criminal played by Colson Baker (Machine Gun Kelly). Travis also appeared in the comedy Fool's Paradise.

Travis Fimmel enjoys many outdoor activities. He likes Australian rules football, fishing, camping, and horse riding. He also enjoys surfing, riding motorbikes, and going to the beach.
In 2009, Travis played in a celebrity cricket match. He played with other Australian actors and sports stars.
Travis has said he wants to go back to living on a farm in Australia when he is done with Hollywood.
Business Ventures
In 2022, Travis Fimmel started his own beer brand called Travla. He started it with Andy Allen, who won a cooking show, and Xavier Campbell, a former football club CEO.
