Villeneuve was a small town, also known as a municipality, located in the Broye district of the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. On January 1, 2017, Villeneuve joined with another town called Surpierre. So, it's no longer a separate municipality on its own.

Villeneuve covered an area of about 3.5 square kilometers (1.35 square miles) in 2009. A big part of this land, about 57%, was used for farming. Forests covered another 34% of the area. Buildings and roads took up about 8% of the land. A small amount, about 1%, was rivers or lakes. The rest was land that couldn't be used for farming or building.

Most of the forested land was dense forest. The farming areas were mainly used for growing crops. All the water in Villeneuve was from flowing rivers or streams.

After upper Secondary, students can go to a higher education school or start an apprenticeship (on-the-job training).

In the 2010-2011 school year, Villeneuve had one primary class with 22 students. There were no lower or upper secondary classes in Villeneuve itself. However, students from Villeneuve attended these schools in nearby towns. For example, 16 students went to lower secondary school in a neighboring town.
