Wario (series) facts for kids
The Wario series is a fun collection of video games starring Wario, who is a bit of a greedy anti-hero! These games are a spin-off from the famous Mario series. The first game in the Wario series was Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3. Over time, the series grew and even started a new type of game called WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!, which is known for its super-fast mini-games.

Main Characters in the Wario Games
- Wario - He's the main character in all the games. Wario loves money more than anything! Even though he's very greedy, he sometimes helps others, especially if there's a big reward involved. In the WarioWare games, Wario even owns his own video game company.
Wario Land Characters
The Wario Land games are mostly about Wario going on adventures to find treasure. Here are some of the characters he meets:
- Captain Syrup - She's a pirate captain and one of Wario's first enemies. She steals a Princess Peach statue in Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3. Wario tries to get it back, not to help Peach, but to sell it for money! She also appears in Wario Land II and Wario Land: The Shake Dimension.
- Rudy the Clown - This is a giant, scary clown with floating hands. He first shows up in Wario Land 3.
- Princess Shokora - A princess from Wario Land 4 who gets turned into a cat by an evil woman named Golden Diva.
- Golden Diva - A very rich and evil woman who lives in a huge Pyramid in Wario Land 4.
- Black Jewel - This is an evil jewel that takes over Wario's castle in Wario World. It turns all of Wario's money into monsters!
- Goodstyle - A talking magic wand who asks Wario for help in Wario: Master of Disguise.
- Count Cannoli - A sneaky thief from Wario: Master of Disguise.
- Terrormisu - An evil demon trapped inside a special stone called a Wishstone in Wario: Master of Disguise.
- Shay King - The main bad guy in Wario Land: The Shake Dimension. He steals a magic purse that makes endless gold. Wario tries to defeat him to get the purse for himself!
WarioWare Characters
The WarioWare games are all about quick, crazy mini-games. Wario starts his own game company, and these characters are his employees and friends:
- Mona - A young girl who works for WarioWare. She also has many other jobs, like delivering pizza and being a pop star. She rides a vespa scooter and has animal friends who help her.
- Jimmy T. - A cool dancer who loves disco music. He has a big blue afro and loves playing games on his cell phone.
- Dr. Crygor - A super smart scientist who often invents things for Wario.
- 9-Volt and 18-Volt - These two are big video game fans who are still in grade school.
- 5-Volt - She is 9-Volt's mom.
- Kat & Ana - Two young ninjas who are still in kindergarten. They fight evil together!
- Orbulon - A very smart alien who crash-lands on Earth. He often gets into funny trouble in space.
- Dribble & Spitz - A dog and a cat who work as taxi drivers.
- Ashley - A young witch who casts spells and makes potions. Her best friend and pet is a tiny demon named Red.
- Mike - A robot built by Dr. Crygor. He loves to sing into his microphone.
- Penny Crygor - Dr. Crygor's daughter. She is also very smart and loves inventing things.
- Young Cricket and Master Mantis - A student and his master who practice martial arts.
- Wario-Man - This is Wario's super-hero form! Wario can turn into him in different ways, sometimes by eating bad garlic.

Wario in Super Smash Bros. Games
The Wario series first appeared in the popular fighting game Super Smash Bros. Melee. It was only as a special collectible trophy back then. Later, in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Wario became a character you could actually play as! He could even wear two different outfits: his biker look from WarioWare or his classic plumber outfit from Wario Land.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl also included a game level based on WarioWare. You could find many collectible trophies and stickers from the Wario series. Plus, the game featured fun music from the WarioWare games!
