Their Journey to Stardom
Early Years (2001–2014)
Almira, the oldest sister, started singing in talent shows when she was very young. She competed in shows like Batang Kampeon and Star for a Night.
In 2001, an aunt suggested the sisters form a singing group. They called themselves 'The Cercado Sisters'. They performed and competed in many festivals and shows. In 2006, they represented the Philippines in the World Championships of Performing Arts. They won 16 gold medals and were named Junior Vocal Group Grand Champion.
The next year, they performed at the Monaco Charity Film Festival. In 2008, they released a short album (called an EP) named The Cercado Sisters. It had six songs but did not become very popular. In 2009, they also started using the name 'The Gollayan Sisters'.
They kept competing in singing contests. In 2012, they won the Filipino show It's Showtime as part of their family group. They sang songs like "I Believe I Can Fly" and "Queen of the Night". In 2013, they became backup singers and dancers on the show Sarah G Live. Later that year, they won the World Championships of Performing Arts again. This time, they were Grand Winners in the Senior Vocal Group Category. They won 20 gold medals! In April 2014, they released another album, The Cercados: Unstoppable!, but it also did not become a big hit.

Superstar K (2014)
In August 2014, the group went to South Korea. They auditioned for the talent show Superstar K6. They changed their name to 'MICA', using the first letter of each sister's name. In their first audition, they sang "U&I" by Ailee. The judges were very impressed. Almira also sang "Listen" by Beyoncé solo, which amazed the judges even more.
They moved to the next round and sang "Let It Go" from the Disney movie Frozen. Their performance became super popular online, getting over 20 million views on YouTube. MICA was eliminated later but brought back as a wildcard. They were the only non-Korean contestants left. The group was eliminated in Week 3, finishing in eighth place.

The X Factor (2015)
After Superstar K6, the group almost gave up singing. But a fan from the UK suggested they try The X Factor. They sent an online application and got an invitation to audition.
In July 2015, the sisters went to London. They made it to the arena auditions for the 12th season. They called themselves 4th Power and sang "Bang Bang". The audience and all four judges gave them a standing ovation. Simon Cowell said it was "one of the best first auditions I've ever seen."
Their audition video went viral on YouTube and Facebook. As of February 2021, it had over 174 million views, making it the most watched video in the show's history. The group easily passed the "Boot Camp" and "Six-Chair Challenge" rounds. They sang songs like "Proud Mary" and "Titanium". Their mentor, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, chose them for her final six acts.
Because of copyright issues, they had to change their name from 4th Power to 4th Impact. They then moved on to the "Judge's Houses" round, where they sang "Love the Way You Lie (Part II)". They were chosen to go to the live shows.
In the quarter-final, 4th Impact was in the bottom two. They had to sing against another contestant, Lauren Murray. 4th Impact sang "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going". The judges' votes were tied, so the decision went to public votes. Lauren Murray advanced, and 4th Impact finished in fifth place.
