- Emperor Augustus was the powerful ruler of the Roman Empire. He was known for making many improvements. In 6 BC, he sent ferrets to the Balearic Islands (which are now part of Spain). Why? To help control the number of rabbits there! Rabbits were causing problems for farmers by eating their crops.
- Tiberius, who would later become the next Roman Emperor after Augustus, was sent to a place called Armenia. After this, he decided to take a break from public life and moved to the island of Rhodes for a while.
