Anthony Kavanagh, born on September 26, 1969, is a talented Canadian entertainer. He is known for being a stand-up comedian, an actor, a singer, and a TV host. He first became famous in Quebec, Canada, for his French-speaking comedy shows. Later, he became a big star in France and is now a well-known television presenter.

Early Life and First Steps
Anthony Kavanagh was born on September 26, 1969. His parents were from Haiti. He first performed on stage at age 14 in a high school talent show.
In 1989, he won the Best New Comic Award at the Juste pour rire Festival in Montreal. This award helped him start his career in Quebec's entertainment world. Anthony was popular with both English and French-speaking audiences.
In 1992, Anthony opened shows for famous singers like Julio Iglesias and Natalie Cole. He also spent two years opening for Céline Dion across Canada. He performed for her in both French and English.
In 1993, at just 23 years old, Anthony got his own TV talk show called "…et Anthony". This made him the youngest talk show host in Quebec. He also worked on a popular French-Canadian comedy radio show. Later, he had roles in the TV series Super sans plomb and the TV movie "Voodoo Taxi".

Stand-up Comedy Shows
In 1995, Anthony Kavanagh launched his first stand-up comedy show, "Kavanagh!" He toured with it across Quebec. The show was a big hit and received great reviews. That same year, he won an award at the Montreux Comedy Festival in Switzerland. In December, he opened for Celine Dion again, this time in Paris, France.
In 1998, Anthony brought his show "Kavanagh!" to France. He worked with famous French comedian Pascal Légitimus to adapt it. Even though it was during the 1998 FIFA World Cup, his shows were sold out. He performed in Paris for seven months to full audiences. Less than a year after starting in France, he performed four shows at the Olympia. This is one of the most famous theaters in France. His "Kavanagh!" tour lasted five years, ending in 2003. He performed 500 shows in 7 countries.
After a five-year break from stand-up, Anthony returned in 2008 with a new show called "Anthonykavanagh.com". He toured with it in Canada, France, and Switzerland. In 2009, he launched another new show, "Ouate Else". He toured this show across France and Switzerland in 2010.
Anthony has also performed his one-man show "Anthony Kavanagh fait son coming out" in Paris and toured it around the French-speaking world. Since 2010, he has hosted the "Grand Gala at the Festival Grand Rire de Québec", a comedy festival in Quebec.
Acting Roles
Anthony Kavanagh has also had a successful acting career.
- In 2003, he played the lawyer Billy Flynn in the French version of the musical Chicago. He performed this role in Montreal and Paris.
- He is well-known for his voice acting. He voiced Mushu in the French-Canadian version of Disney's Mulan (1998).
- He also voiced Marty the zebra in the Madagascar movies (2005, 2008, 2012) for both French and French-Canadian audiences.
- Other voice roles include Buck in Home on the Range (2004), Memphis and Lovelace in Happy Feet (2006, 2011), and Ray in The Princess and the Frog (2010).
- In 2006, Anthony launched "Les démons de l'Arkange". This was a mix of a musical, a concert, and a stand-up comedy show.
- French filmmaker Étienne Chatiliez gave him the main male role in his 2008 film "Agathe Clery". Anthony played Quentin Lambert, a French businessman.
- In 2009, he played American GI Gary Larochelle in the TV movie "Les amants de l'ombre". This movie was very popular, with over four million viewers.
- He also had a supporting role in the mini-series "La Fille au Fond du Verre à Saké" in 2009.
