Anthony Kavanagh (born September 26, 1969) is a talented Canadian entertainer. He is a stand-up comedian, actor, singer, and TV presenter. He first became famous in Quebec, Canada, for his French-speaking comedy shows. Later, he became a big star in France and is now a popular TV host.

Early Life and First Steps
Anthony Kavanagh was born on September 26, 1969. His parents were from Haiti. He first performed on stage at 14 years old in a high school talent show. In 1989, he won an award for Best New Comic at the Juste pour rire Festival in Montreal. This award helped him start his career in show business in Quebec. Anthony was popular with both English and French-speaking audiences.
In 1992, Anthony opened shows for famous singers like Julio Iglesias and Natalie Cole. He also spent two years opening for Céline Dion across Canada. He performed for her in both French and English.
In 1993, at just 23, Anthony got his own TV talk show called "…et Anthony". This made him the youngest talk show host in Quebec. He also worked on a funny radio show called Les Midis fous. Later, he had roles in the TV series Super sans plomb and the TV movie "Voodoo Taxi".

Stand-up Comedy Shows
In 1995, Anthony Kavanagh launched his first big stand-up show, "Kavanagh!" in Quebec. It was a huge success and received great reviews. That same year, he won an award at the Montreux Comedy Festival in Switzerland. In December, he again opened for Celine Dion in Paris, performing in big arenas.
In 1998, Anthony brought his "Kavanagh!" show to France. He worked with famous French comedian Pascal Légitimus to adapt it. Even though it opened during the FIFA World Cup, his shows were sold out. He performed for seven months in Paris to full audiences. Less than a year later, he performed at the Olympia, a very famous theater in France. His "Kavanagh!" tour lasted five years, ending in 2003. He performed 500 shows in 7 countries and sold 250,000 DVDs!
After a break, Anthony returned to comedy in 2008 with a new show, "Anthonykavanagh.com". He toured in Canada, France, and Switzerland. In 2009, he had another new show called "Ouate Else". He toured this show across France and Switzerland in 2010.
Anthony has continued to perform his one-man show "Anthony Kavanagh fait son coming out" in Paris and around the French-speaking world. Since 2010, he has also hosted the "Grand Gala at the Festival Grand Rire de Québec", a comedy festival shown on Canadian TV.
Acting and Voice Acting
Anthony Kavanagh has also had a successful acting career. In 2003, he played the lawyer Billy Flynn in the French version of the musical Chicago in Montreal and Paris.
He is well-known for his voice acting in many popular animated movies.

French filmmaker Étienne Chatiliez gave him a main role in the 2008 film "Agathe Clery". Anthony played a French businessman named Quentin Lambert. In 2009, he played an American soldier in the TV movie "Les amants de l'ombre", which was very popular. He also had a supporting role in the mini-series "La Fille au Fond du Verre à Saké". In a recent season of the French TV series "Fais pas ci, fais pas ça", he played a sports agent.
Television Hosting
Since 2001, Anthony has hosted the "NRJ Music Awards" in France six times. This is a big music awards show, similar to the MTV Music Awards. He welcomed many famous stars like David Guetta, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Britney Spears, U2, Black Eyed Peas, Usher, Coldplay, and Madonna. His energy and mix of North American and French culture made the show very popular.
In 2006, Anthony hosted other prime-time TV shows in France, including "The Dancing Show" and "Fête de la Musique". In 2010, he co-wrote and co-produced a show called "Nous avons les images", which aired in France and Canada.
In 2014, he took part in Danse avec les stars, which is the French version of Dancing with the Stars. He danced with professional dancer Silvia Notargiacomo and finished 7th.
