Arash Labbaf, born on April 23, 1977, is a famous singer, entertainer, and music producer. He is from both Iran and Sweden.
In 2009, Arash represented Azerbaijan in the Eurovision Song Contest. He performed the song "Always" with Aysel. They finished in third place, which was a great achievement! Arash is also a judge on Persia's Got Talent. This show is a version of the popular British talent show Got Talent.

Arash's Early Life
Arash Labbaf was born in Tehran, Iran. He lived with his parents near a place called Mellat Park. When he was ten years old, his family moved to Sweden. He still lives there today.
Arash has shared that his mother is from Shiraz and his father is from Isfahan. Both of these cities are in Iran. He has also said that he loves association football, also known as soccer. He has even released songs about the sport! Arash was interested in singing from a young age. He even started a small band with his friends when he was younger.
Arash's Music Career
Arash chooses to sing in his native language. He says this is because he feels a strong connection to Iran and its culture.
His first album, called Arash, came out in June 2005. It was released by Warner Music Sweden. This happened after he finished his college studies. Two of his songs, "Boro Boro" ("Go Away") and "Temptation", became very popular. "Temptation" featured another singer named Rebecca.
These songs were big hits across Europe. Their music videos were played a lot on over 20 MTV channels around the world. Arash became very well-known in many countries. This included places like Russia, Ukraine, Greece, Poland, and Turkey. He also became popular in Asian countries like Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.
Album and Song Success
Arash's music has been very successful. His album Arash earned a "gold" certification in five countries. These countries were Germany, Russia, Slovenia, and Greece. His song "Boro Boro" also went gold in Sweden.
The song "Boro Boro" was even used in a Hindi Bollywood movie called Bluffmaster!. Arash was chosen as the "Artist of the Month" on MTV India.
The music video for his song "Pure Love" featured the Venezuelan beauty queen, Marianne Puglia. However, the singer Helena, whose voice was on the song, did not appear in the video.
Arash also helped create a song for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2010. The song was called "Allt jag vill ha" and was performed by Josefine Ridell. He worked on this song with Thomas G:son, Robert Uhlmann, and Johan Bejerholm.
Arash at Eurovision
In early 2009, it was announced that Arash would be involved in the Eurovision Song Contest. He wrote and composed the song "Always". This song was chosen to represent Azerbaijan.
Arash performed "Always" as a duet with Aysel Teymurzadeh in the competition. They sang in Semifinal 2 of the Eurovision contest. Their performance helped them qualify for the final round. The final took place on May 16, 2009. Arash and Aysel finished in an impressive third place!
Arash explained why he chose to represent Azerbaijan. He said, "I'm originally [ethnically] Azeri, and I would like to have a part in this country's confident ascent in the history of Eurovision."
Arash's Personal Life
Arash Labaf married his longtime fiancée, Behnaz Ansari. Their wedding took place in Dubai in May 2011.
