Giorgio Armani S.p.A. (often called Armani) is a famous Italian fashion house. It was started in Milan, Italy, by Giorgio Armani. The company designs, makes, and sells many luxury items. These include fancy clothes (called haute couture), everyday clothes, leather goods, shoes, and things for your home.
Armani also works with other companies. For example, Luxottica makes Armani eyewear, and L'Oréal makes Armani perfumes and makeup. Armani is one of the biggest fashion groups in Italy.
The company has several clothing lines. Armani Privé is their special couture line. Giorgio Armani and Emporio Armani are their ready-to-wear lines, which are shown at Milan Fashion Week. Other lines like Armani Collezioni, Armani Exchange, and Armani Jeans sell at lower prices.

History of Armani
Armani was founded in 1975 by Giorgio Armani and his business partner, Sergio Galeotti. They reportedly started the company with money from selling Armani's car.
In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Armani signed deals with other companies. These deals helped them make and sell their clothes and other products. For example, they worked with Gruppo Finanziario Tessile (GFT) and Simint.
By the 1990s, Armani decided to take more control over its products. They started buying back the companies that made their clothes. This helped them control the quality and how their products were sold.
In 2001, Armani turned an old chocolate factory in Milan into their main office. They also opened large stores called "megastores" in big cities around the world. These stores, designed by famous architects, sell all of Armani's different brands.
Armani has also worked with tech companies. In 2007, they teamed up with Samsung to create high-end electronic items. In 2016, Giorgio Armani started the Giorgio Armani Foundation. This foundation helps fund social projects and keeps the Armani Group stable for the future.
In February 2020, Armani was the first fashion brand to hold its runway show without an audience. This happened at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. By March 2020, all of Armani's factories in Italy started making medical overalls to help during the pandemic.

Giorgio Armani (High-End Fashion)
Giorgio Armani is the company's most luxurious brand. It offers high-end ready-to-wear clothes for men and women. It also includes accessories, glasses, makeup, and perfumes. You can find these items only in special Giorgio Armani stores or very fancy department stores. The logo for this brand is a curved "G" and "A" that form a circle.
Giorgio Armani has also designed costumes for many famous movies. Some of these include The Dark Knight, The Wolf of Wall Street, and Ocean's Thirteen.
In 2016, Giorgio Armani made an important decision. They announced that they would stop using animal fur in all their collections. They said there were good alternatives that made using cruel practices unnecessary.
Armani Collezioni (Classic Style)
Armani Collezioni was a line that offered clothes at a slightly lower price than the main Giorgio Armani line. It was known for its classic tailored suits and shirts. This line was often sold in department stores.

Armani Jeans started in 1981 and offered a collection of casual sportswear. This brand even had its own stores.

Giorgio Armani Occhiali was created in 1987 for eyewear. In 1988, Armani partnered with Luxottica to make and sell their glasses.
Armani Exchange (Accessible Fashion)
A|X Armani Exchange was launched in 1991 in the U.S. It sells fashion and lifestyle products. This brand is known for being more affordable and inspired by street style and dance music. It's meant to be an easier way for people to buy Armani.
A|X Armani Exchange products are sold in stores in many countries and on the brand's website. They were one of the first fashion brands to sell products online, starting in 1997.
Armani Junior and Armani Baby (Kids' Fashion)

Armani designs clothes for babies, toddlers, and teenagers under the names Armani Junior and Armani Baby. The Armani Junior brand started in 1979. It includes baby clothes, T-shirts, suits, shoes, and accessories.

Armani/Casa (Home Furnishings)
The Armani brand also includes furniture and home items called Armani/Casa. "Casa" means "home" in Italian. Giorgio Armani launched this collection in 2000. He wanted to help people design their own homes. Critics liked the style, calling it "simply elegant" with "artistic detail."
Armani works with other companies to make this home collection. For example, Armani/Dada makes kitchens, and Armani/Roca makes bathroom items. Armani/Casa products are used in Armani hotels and have decorated movie sets.

The first Armani hotel opened in the Burj Khalifa skyscraper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in 2010. It has guest rooms, suites, and residences. Giorgio Armani also designed the interiors of the Armani Residences within the skyscraper. The second Armani hotel opened in Milan in 2011.

Armani runs two luxury clubs called Armani/Privé in Milan and Dubai. These clubs are known for their great music and special atmosphere.

Armani also makes luxury luggage, bags, and small leather items. In 2008, they launched a special collection of handcrafted luggage.

Social Responsibility

In 2006, Emporio Armani partnered with Product Red. This initiative helps fight AIDS in Africa. In 2011, Armani Parfums launched the "Acqua For Life" project. This project works with Green Cross International and UNICEF to provide clean water to children in African countries.

Armani Beauty has been a big supporter of the Venice Film Festival since 2018. In 2019, A|X Armani Exchange became the first fashion brand to sponsor an e-sports team, Mkers.
Armani has also designed suits for Italy's sports teams. They dressed the Italian team for the 2012 Summer Olympics and the national football team for the UEFA Euro 2020. Since 2021, Armani has sponsored Scuderia Ferrari, providing clothes for their Formula One team. They also make kits for the football team S.S.C. Napoli and the basketball team Olimpia Milano.
Sustainability
Armani is very committed to being sustainable. They banned animal fur in 2016. In 2019, they signed the "Fashion Pact" with other major fashion companies to help fight climate change.
In 2021, the company created a new sustainability plan. This plan focuses on "People, Planet, Prosperity." They have set goals to use resources responsibly throughout their entire business. They also make special clothing collections using recycled materials and organic cotton. Armani has also promised to stop using angora wool from the 2022-23 Autumn/Winter season.
