Granges-Paccot is a small town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It is located in the canton of Fribourg, within the Sarine district. People in Granges-Paccot mostly speak French, but many also speak German.

History of Granges-Paccot
Granges-Paccot was first mentioned in old records way back in 1317. At that time, it was called Grangiarum ante la mota dicti castri.
It used to have a German name, Zur Schüren, but that name isn't used anymore.
Geography and Location
Granges-Paccot is about 4 square kilometers (1.5 square miles) big. A large part of its land is used for farming. About 45.5% of the area is farmland.
Forests cover about 15.3% of the municipality. The rest of the land, about 31%, has buildings and roads. A small part, 7.8%, is made up of rivers or lakes.
The town is located north of the city of Fribourg. It sits on the left side of a river.
