How Harvey Beaks Was Made
C. H. Greenblatt created Harvey Beaks. He also made the show Chowder before this. Greenblatt wanted Harvey Beaks to be different from Chowder. He wanted it to have more heart and emotional stories.
He first showed the idea to Nickelodeon. It was called Bad Seeds then. Nickelodeon liked it and ordered a pilot episode. In 2013, the show was picked up for a full series. The name had to change to Harvey Beaks because of trademark rules.
Greenblatt used social media to find artists for the show. He hired talented people who didn't have much animation experience. Most of the younger characters are voiced by child actors. However, adults voice Dade and Princess Roberts.
On June 21, 2015, Nickelodeon announced a second season. The second season started on June 13, 2016.
Why the Show Ended
On November 6, 2016, C. H. Greenblatt shared that Harvey Beaks was cancelled. He also said that the remaining episodes would move to Nicktoons.
The new episodes started airing on Nicktoons on March 1, 2017. The very last episode of Harvey Beaks aired on December 29, 2017. After this show, Greenblatt went on to work at Warner Bros. Animation. He created Jellystone! for HBO Max.
