How Voting Works

In the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, countries vote for their favorite songs. They give points from 1 to 8, then 10, and finally 12 points to their top 10 songs. The song with the most points wins!

To make sure no country ended up with zero points, the presenters started the show by giving every contestant 12 points right away. This meant everyone had a good start!

Countries Receiving 12 Points

The "12 points" are the highest score a country can give to another. It means that song was their absolute favorite! Here's a quick look at which countries received the most 12 points:

Number of 12s Recipient nation Voting nation
4  Spain Greece, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro, United Kingdom
3  Belarus Malta, Latvia, Russia
2  Denmark Republic of Macedonia, Norway
 Greece Croatia, Cyprus
 Norway Denmark, Sweden
1  Belgium Netherlands
 Netherlands Belgium
 Romania Spain
 Russia Belarus
  • Remember, all countries started with 12 points to ensure no one got a score of zero.
