Justin Paul Theroux (born August 10, 1971) is an American actor and filmmaker. He is known for his roles in movies and TV shows. He has also worked behind the scenes as a director, producer, and screenwriter.
Justin Theroux became well-known for his work with director David Lynch. He appeared in Lynch's mystery film Mulholland Drive (2001) and the thriller Inland Empire (2006). He has also been in many other films. These include American Psycho (2000), Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003), and Bumblebee (2018). He also voiced Tramp in Lady and the Tramp (2019).
As a screenwriter, Justin Theroux helped write the action comedy Tropic Thunder (2008). He also wrote the superhero film Iron Man 2 (2010). His first time directing a movie was with the romantic comedy Dedication (2007).
On TV, he starred as Kevin Garvey in the HBO drama series The Leftovers (2014–2017). He received great reviews for this role. He also played Dr. James Mantleray in the Netflix series Maniac (2018). Justin Theroux was born on August 10, 1971, in Washington, D.C.. His mother, Phyllis Grissim Theroux, is a writer. His father, Eugene Albert Theroux, is a lawyer. Justin has many famous relatives who are writers. These include his uncles Paul Theroux and Alexander Theroux. His cousins, Louis and Marcel Theroux, are British journalists.
Justin went to several schools in Washington, D.C. He started acting when he was in high school at the Buxton School in Massachusetts. After high school, he went to Bennington College. He graduated in 1993 with a degree in visual arts and drama.
Career Highlights
Justin Theroux started his film career in 1996 in the movie I Shot Andy Warhol. Since then, he has acted in plays on Broadway and in many other stage shows. He has also been in several comedy films. These include Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion, and Zoolander.

He has also acted in more serious films like American Psycho. He worked with director David Lynch in the movies Mulholland Drive and Inland Empire.

Justin Theroux was in a relationship with stylist Heidi Bivens from 1997 to 2011. He then started dating actress Jennifer Aniston in 2011. They had worked together on the film Wanderlust. They got engaged in August 2012 and married on August 5, 2015. Theroux and Aniston announced their separation in early 2018. In August 2024, Theroux became engaged to Nicole Brydon Bloom.
