The Kansas River, also known as the Kaw, is an important river in the northeastern part of Kansas in the United States. It is a major waterway that flows through the state.

About the Kansas River
The Kansas River is about 148 miles (238 km) long. It starts near Junction City, Kansas where two other rivers, the Smoky Hill River and the Republican River, join together. From there, the Kansas River flows eastward. It eventually empties into the Missouri River in Kansas City, Kansas.
