The Tillandsia setacea, also known as the southern needleleaf, is a type of plant. It belongs to a group of plants called the genus Tillandsia. These plants are often called "air plants" because many of them don't need soil to grow!
Where Does the Southern Needleleaf Grow?
The southern needleleaf is found in several different places. It grows in parts of the southeastern United States, like Florida and Georgia.
It also lives in northwestern and southern Mexico. You can find it in states such as Jalisco, Sinaloa, Nayarit, Chiapas, Oaxaca, and Campeche.
Beyond North America, this plant is found in Guatemala and the West Indies. This includes islands like the Cayman Islands, Cuba, Hispaniola, Jamaica, and Puerto Rico. It even grows in a part of northeastern Brazil called Pará.
