The Story of the Movie
In Jump City, the Teen Titans try to stop a villain called Balloon Man. But he doesn't even know who they are! The Titans start singing a rap song to introduce themselves, which makes them lose focus. The Justice League (including Superman, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman) has to step in and save the day.
The Justice League tells the Titans that they don't take being superheroes seriously enough. They also point out that the Titans don't have their own movie, which makes them seem less important.
Later, at a movie premiere, Robin (the Titans' leader) feels embarrassed. He thinks everyone is making fun of him because he doesn't have a movie. The rest of the team suggests that to get a movie, they need a supervillain to fight.
Meanwhile, a villain named Slade breaks into a science lab to steal a powerful crystal. The Titans try to stop him, but Slade easily beats them and makes them feel bad.
The next day, Starfire, Cyborg, Raven, and Beast Boy try to cheer Robin up by making a movie for him. But Robin turns it off, thinking they are still making fun of him. He decides they must go to Hollywood to get a real movie made about them.
When they arrive at Warner Bros. Studios, they meet Jade Wilson, a famous movie director. She makes all the superhero movies. Jade tells the Titans she won't make a movie about them unless they are the only superheroes in the world.
The Titans take her words seriously. They travel back in time to stop other superheroes from ever becoming heroes. But this messes up the present! So, they have to go back in time again to fix their mistake.
Slade then tries to use the crystal's power at Wayne Tech. The Titans arrive and fight him much better this time. They get the crystal, but Slade escapes. He plans to turn Robin against his friends.
The next day, Jade invites the Titans back to Hollywood. She says she will make a movie about them because of their fight with Slade. Robin gets a special tour, while the others explore and cause some trouble.
They find a device called "D.O.O.M.S.D.A.Y." They think it's a dangerous weapon and try to destroy it. But Jade explains that D.O.O.M.S.D.A.Y. is just the name of a new streaming service for her movie. She then tells the team she will only make the movie about Robin, leaving out the others. Robin agrees, which makes his friends very sad. Robin tells them they should go their separate ways.
Robin starts making his movie, but he soon misses his friends. During the final scene, he gets knocked out by a falling light. He wakes up to find that Jade is actually Slade in disguise! Slade steals the crystal back and traps Robin. He reveals that making all the superhero movies was a trick to keep heroes busy. This allowed him to build D.O.O.M.S.D.A.Y., a device that can control minds and help him take over the world.
Slade then destroys the Titans Tower, but Robin safely escapes. After the destruction, Robin calls his friends and says sorry. They happily make up with him.
At the premiere of Robin: The Movie, the Titans arrive and expose Slade. But Slade uses the crystal's power to control the other heroes and sends them after the Titans. Robin chases Slade while his team fights the mind-controlled heroes.
Slade manages to control Robin too, telling him to attack his friends. When Robin has them cornered, his friends show him the rest of the movie they made for him. It shows how much they believe he is a true hero and their friend. This helps Robin break free from Slade's control.
Slade then fights them with a giant robot. But the Titans use a song to defeat Slade and destroy the crystal. This frees all the other heroes from Slade's mind control. Everyone congratulates the Titans for saving the day. Robin admits he has learned to be himself without needing a movie.
In a scene during the credits, the Teen Titans from the 2003 TV series appear on a screen. They say they "found a way back," hinting at a future crossover. In another scene after the credits, the Challengers of the Unknown are still stuck in a portal.
