Vlag en Wimpel facts for kids
The Vlag en Wimpel award was a special honor given in the Netherlands for amazing children's books and illustrations. It was like a special shout-out from the judges of the Golden Griffel and Golden Brush awards. These awards celebrate the best Dutch children's literature and the most beautiful pictures in books. The Collectieve Propaganda van het Nederlandse Boek organization helped arrange these awards.
Since 2022, the Vlag en Wimpel award has a new name: the Bronze Griffel and Bronze Brush. This change was made to make it even clearer that these awards highlight truly excellent children's books.
