Wyncote is right next to Philadelphia, about 11 miles from downtown Philadelphia. It's in the southeastern part of Montgomery County. The Jenkintown-Wyncote train station is one of the busiest in the SEPTA system.
Wyncote is surrounded by several other neighborhoods. These include Glenside, Elkins Park, La Mott, and Cedarbrook in Cheltenham. It also borders parts of Philadelphia like West Oak Lane and Cedarbrook. Nearby towns are Jenkintown and Abington Township.

Wyncote has a special area called the Wyncote Historic District. This district was added to the US Historic Register in October 1986. It's important because of its unique architecture and how the community was planned. The district covers over 100 acres and includes 178 important buildings.
You can find many beautiful, restored Victorian-era homes here. The All Hallows Church, built in 1896–1897, was designed by a firm started by the famous Philadelphia architect Frank Furness. Wyncote also has many classic Philadelphia stone colonial revival homes. One famous example is Beechwood.

Public Transportation
Wyncote is served by SEPTA, which is the public transportation system. You can take a regional train from the Jenkintown–Wyncote station. This station is a historic building that dates back to the North Pennsylvania Railroad.
Trains regularly go south to Philadelphia or north to Bucks County. A train ride to downtown Philadelphia takes about 30 minutes. Wyncote also has SEPTA buses, like the Route 77, which connects Chestnut Hill to Mayfair, Philadelphia.
