- In Myanmar (also known as Burma), the Pagan Empire started to fall apart. This happened after Kublai Khan and his army defeated them in the Battle of Ngasaunggyan, near the Chinese border.
- About 50,000 people from China's Southern Song Dynasty moved to Macau. They were looking for a safe place from the Mongol Empire's attacks. They also stayed briefly in Kowloon. Much later, the place they stayed became known as Sung Wong Toi.
- The Mamluk leader, Sultan Baibars, invaded Anatolia. He took control of smaller states that used to be part of the Sultanate of Rüm.
- In Wales, Llywelyn ap Gruffudd was defeated by King Edward I of England. This happened during the First Welsh War.
- The St George's cross was first used as the flag of England.
- A way of thinking called Averroism was banned in Paris. This happened at the University of Paris.
- In Japan, a 20-kilometer stone wall was finished. It was built along the coast of Hakata Bay in Fukuoka. This wall was made to protect against another invasion by the Mongol Empire, after their first attempt in 1274.
- November 25 – Pope Nicholas III became the 188th pope. He took over after Pope John XXI.
- The Mongol Golden Horde launched its third attack against Lithuania.
