18 AD was a year in the 1st century of the Common Era. Back then, people used the Julian calendar, and this year started on a Saturday. In the Roman Empire, it was known as the Year of the Consulship of Tiberius and Germanicus. This means that Tiberius (who was the Roman Emperor) and Germanicus (a famous general and adopted son of Tiberius) were the top leaders, called Consuls, for that year.

- A small group of Roman soldiers, called a vexillatio, from the Third Augustan Legion was attacked and defeated in Africa.

- Caiaphas became the high priest in Jerusalem, a very important religious leader at that time.
