Against the Odds was a cool TV show from the 1980s. It was made by Nickelodeon and aired from 1982 to 1984. The show was all about amazing people from history. It showed how they faced big challenges and still achieved great things! Bill Bixby was the host, and Philip Proctor narrated the stories.
A Nickelodeon manager, Geraldine Laybourne, once shared something interesting. Her son called the show "a series of little tragedies." This meant the show focused on the tough times famous people went through. It showed how they overcame these problems to become well-known.
This TV series is different from a military history show with the same name. That other show aired much later, from 2014 to 2016.
