History of Al Jazira Club
Al Jazira Club was formed in 1974. This happened when two older clubs, Khalidiyah and Al Bateen, joined together. For many years, the team found it hard to stay in the main league. They were even moved down to a lower league several times in the 1980s and 1990s.
Things changed for the better in the 2000s. Sheikh Mansour invested in the club. After his investment, Al Jazira started winning big titles. They won their first league title in 2011. They won two more league titles in 2017 and 2021.
Al Jazira is also known for developing great local players. Some famous players like Ali Mabkhout and Khalfan Mubarak started their careers here. Many players from Al Jazira have gone on to play for the UAE national team.
