Happy Hollow Park & Zoo is a super fun place in San Jose, California. It's a special spot that combines a small zoo with an amusement park. The park covers about 16 acres and first opened way back in 1961.
Happy Hollow closed for a big makeover in 2008. It reopened its gates on March 20, 2010, looking brand new! This park is a proud member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). This means it meets high standards for animal care and education. It's also part of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA).

Discover the History of Happy Hollow
Did you know that Happy Hollow Park & Zoo was planned a long time ago? Members of the Jaycees, Alden Campen and Ernie Renzel, started planning the park in 1956. They helped the city buy the first 7.5 acres of land. This land is now part of Kelley Park.

Meerkats at the zoo

- Petting Zoo: Visit the animal barn where you can meet friendly animals. You might get to pet and feed goats, sheep, and even tiny miniature cows!
- Parallel Play Area: This unique play area is right next to the lemur exhibit. Kids can play while watching endangered lemurs.
- Fossa Exhibit: See the fossa, a cool animal from Madagascar. It's part of the mongoose family. You might remember it from the movie Madagascar!
