Main Series Fighters
Only three characters have been in every main Tekken game so far: Yoshimitsu, Nina Williams, and Paul Phoenix. King and Kuma have also been in all games, but as two different characters (King I and Kuma I in the first two games, then King II and Kuma II in the rest).
Four other characters almost made it into every game, appearing in seven installments: Heihachi Mishima, Kazuya Mishima, Marshall Law, and Lee Chaolan. The robot Jack has also been in seven main games, with different models and names (Jack, Jack-2, Gun Jack, Jack-5, Jack-6, Jack-7, and Jack-8). Tekken 4 is the only game where a Jack robot wasn't playable.

After Kazuya was defeated, it was thought that parts of the dark power tried to possess Jun's unborn son. But it was later revealed that Kazuya lost half of his power after becoming a father. Jun sealed her son's dark power to ensure his human side was born safely. She raised her son, Jin, in the forests of Yakushima, away from danger.

Ling Xiaoyu is a cheerful Chinese teenager and a friend of Jin Kazama. She wants to help the Mishima family, which is becoming more corrupt. She has been in every game since her debut in Tekken 3.
About Ling Xiaoyu
Xiaoyu was created because the Tekken 3 team wanted a younger girl in the game. Her design was a surprise to the staff. She has black hair in pigtails. Her outfits change, from a Chinese dress to a school uniform.
The writer for Tekken: Blood Vengeance chose Xiaoyu as a main character because he felt she represented older Tekken games. The director enjoyed her Japanese voice acting, saying it made Xiaoyu a beautiful woman.
Her fighting style uses various Chinese martial arts, especially Baguazhang and Piguaquan. She is known for her fast, evasive moves. She uses speed more than strength.
Her Story
Ling Xiaoyu was taught martial arts by her relative, Wang Jinrei. She dreamed of opening an amusement park. Heihachi Mishima agreed to help her if she won his tournament. Xiaoyu went to Mishima Polytechnic School, where she became friends with Miharu Hirano and Jin Kazama. Heihachi also taught her pet panda, Panda, to fight and be her bodyguard.
Xiaoyu stayed with the Mishima Zaibatsu during Tekken 4. She entered the tournament to find Jin and learn about the company's bad deeds. Yoshimitsu saved her from Heihachi's plans and told her about the Mishima family's sad history. Xiaoyu decided to try and save the Mishima family.
As Tekken 5 began, the Mishima Zaibatsu started a world war. Xiaoyu entered Tekken 6 to try and save Jin from evil.
After Jin disappeared, Heihachi took control of the Mishima Zaibatsu again. Xiaoyu went into the building to find information on Jin. She met Claudio Serafino. Claudio led her to the roof and challenged her. Xiaoyu accepted, not knowing Claudio's true plan.
In Tekken 8, Xiaoyu learned Claudio's real plan and refused to join him. She traveled the world looking for Jin and joined his side against Kazuya. She and Claudio found Zafina unconscious after she sealed a creature called Azazel. Xiaoyu cared for Zafina.
Xiaoyu and Panda were asked to take Jin to his birthplace, Yakushima, to help him regain his power. This was with the help of Lili de Rocherfort and Jin's cousin Asuka. While Jin faced his inner demons, Xiaoyu protected him from attacking robots.
After Jin defeated Kazuya and brought peace, Xiaoyu and Jin finally had a normal relationship. Xiaoyu also met Leroy Smith when she was young. They both joined Jin's side in the war. After Jin won, he reunited with Xiaoyu.
Ling Xiaoyu has also appeared in many non-story Tekken games, including Tekken Tag Tournament, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Tekken Revolution, and Street Fighter X Tekken.

She is younger than Jin. No one in the family knows about her until Tekken 8, where she joins Jin's side for unknown reasons.
During the story, it's revealed that Reina is Heihachi's secret daughter and also has a Devil Gene like Jin and Kazuya. She loved and respected Heihachi, but didn't know he disliked Devil Gene users. Reina's first goal in Tekken 8 was to gain Jin's trust and get close to Kazuya. She wanted Kazuya to defeat her so her dormant Devil Gene would fully awaken without anyone knowing. After achieving this, Reina plans to get revenge for Heihachi's passing and continue his legacy, after Jin defeated Kazuya and removed their Devil Genes.
