Manuel Crescencio Rejón International Airport, also known as Mérida International Airport, is a busy airport in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico. It's located at the southern edge of the city. This airport is special because it's one of only four airports in Mexico that has an Area Control Center.
An Area Control Center helps guide planes in the sky. The Mérida Center manages air traffic over southeastern Mexico. This includes many flights traveling from Central America, South America, and the Caribbean to the United States and Canada.
The airport is open 24 hours a day. It handles both flights within Mexico and flights to other countries. Large planes like the Boeing 747 and Boeing 777 can land here. However, most planes you'll see are smaller, like the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320.

About the Airport
The airport was fully updated between 1999 and 2001. It is the second busiest airport for passengers in the ASUR group, which manages several airports. It is also the busiest for cargo.
Inside the airport, you can find many shops that sell things without extra taxes (duty-free stores). There's also a food court with different places to eat. You can find special stores, banks, and places to rent cars. The airport also offers medical services 24 hours a day and helpful tourist information booths.
A Mexican Air Force base, called the 8th BAM, is also located at the airport. It is to the left of runway 10.
In 2021, over 2 million passengers used Mérida International Airport. In 2022, this number grew to more than 3 million passengers!
The airport has special VIP lounges for travelers. These include the Aeroméxico Salón Premier and the Caral VIP Lounge.
