Have you ever sung along to the theme song of SpongeBob SquarePants or a hit from the show Victorious? If so, you've heard music from Nickelodeon Records! This is the official record label for the Nickelodeon TV channel. A record label is a company that helps artists record and sell their music.
Nickelodeon Records is known for releasing soundtracks from popular TV shows. It also helps launch the music careers of young stars who act, sing, and dance on the network. One of its most famous artists was Ariana Grande before she became a global superstar! From 2001 to 2010, the label was known as Nick Records.

The Story of Nick's Music
Nickelodeon started releasing music back in 1993 with its first soundtrack album. In 2001, the channel decided to create its own official label, called Nick Records, by teaming up with Jive Records.
Over the years, Nickelodeon Records has worked with several major music companies to help produce and share its music with the world.
- In 2004, it partnered with Bertelsmann Music Group (now known as BMG).
- In 2007, it began a long-lasting partnership with Sony Music. This team-up led to many popular soundtracks and albums from Nickelodeon shows.
- In 2022, Republic Records made a deal with Nickelodeon to release new music, though these new songs don't use the Nickelodeon Records name.
Who Manages the Music?
A special department called Music by Nickelodeon Inc. manages all the songs from Nickelodeon's shows. This includes the music released by Nickelodeon Records. This group makes sure that all the music is used correctly and that the writers and composers get paid for their work. They work with organizations like BMI, ASCAP, and SESAC to handle the business side of the music.
