OOglies is a funny children's TV show made by BBC Scotland for CBBC. It uses a special animation style called stop-motion, where objects are moved tiny bits at a time and photographed. When played fast, it looks like they are moving!
The show is all about everyday items and food from your house. The funniest part is that almost all of them have silly googly eyes stuck on them. That's where the name "OOglies" comes from!
OOglies first appeared on TV on August 10, 2009. You could watch it on both CBBC and BBC HD. The show was so popular that it came back in 2015 as OOglies Funsize. The voices for the characters are done by talented people like Tim Dann, Peter Dickson, and Shelley Longworth.

Meet the OOglies: Funny Characters and Gags
In OOglies, you'll see many characters who show up again and again. They often have their own special jokes or silly things they do. Sometimes, different characters even meet each other!
Every episode starts with a funny safety message. A voice tells you, "The stunts you are about to witness have been performed by trained OOglies. Under no circumstances should children or silly adults attempt to do any of the actions you see in the programme." For Funsize episodes, they add, "It's time for OOglies!"
- The Playful Grapes and Melonhead - A bunch of green grapes love to play games like sliding. But then, a clumsy watermelon (Melonhead) tries to join in. He usually ends up squashing the poor grapes!
- Boo Potato - This potato has sprouts and loves to set "traps." When another OOglie gets close, the potato jumps out and shouts "BOO!" This scares the other OOglie so much they often fall apart.
- Strawberry Lovers - Two strawberries try to meet across a kitchen counter. The boy strawberry always tries to get to the girl, but he never makes it and often gets squashed.
- The Cherry-aiders - These four cherries are like a flying ambulance team. They use a mixer to help other OOglies who are broken. But they often wrap them in so many bandages that it causes even more problems!
- Lonely Sprout - A little Brussels sprout tries to join in with other OOglies or help them. But he always fails, and it seems like no one really likes him. This is a funny nod to how some kids don't like sprouts!
- Stunt Tomato - This tomato wears a cape and mask and tries to do amazing tricks. He performs for three small cherry tomatoes, but he always ends up getting hurt himself.
- Slippery Nana - A Banana peel tries to do things but keeps slipping over. This usually causes other objects around it to break.
- Racey Bacon and Mr. Bun - A slice of bacon is always running away from a bun. It tries to hide by pretending to be something else, like a flower or a fish finger. It usually escapes the bun, but then something else goes wrong.
- Zombie Vegetables - An OOglie food item gets thrown into a bin where a rotting Parsnip and Potato live. They look scary at first, but they are actually friendly. They show their friendship by, well, making funny noises!
- The Stapler Dogs - A stapler loves to play tricks on three staple remover "dogs." It makes them jump off their shelf, like by throwing staples down.
- The Baby Blocks - Three toy blocks (a blue cube, a pink cylinder, and a yellow triangle) are babies. They go exploring, but a loud noise often scares them. They cry and run back to their toybox for safety.
- The Fruit Bunch and Devious Blender - An orange sees something cool and tells a Banana, an Apple, and a Pear. They go to check it out, but it's actually a sneaky blender in disguise! The blender then mixes them into a smoothie.
- Laser Mouse - This computer mouse has a short temper. He moves by shooting a laser beam and following it. If something is in his way, he uses the laser to burn a hole through it, but then it usually falls on him.
- Zip Face and Pencil - A cheeky pencil escapes from his pencil case. The pencil case wakes up and tries to catch him. But the pencil draws pictures in a sketchbook that come to life and cause funny trouble for the case.
- The Scramblers - This is a group of three motorbiking eggs. They try to do daring stunts using a slab of Red Rind Edam Cheese as a ramp. One of the eggs has training wheels and often crashes, but in the end, he finally completes a stunt!
- The Cheeky Carrots and Torch - A torch tries to sleep in a basement. But when its light is off, a group of carrots cause mischief in the dark. The torch then turns its light back on to stop them.
- Sugar Cube - A small sugar cube goes sledding with husky dog tea bags. She gets knocked off her "sledge" (a spoon) and melts when she touches water, which makes her dog friends sad.
- Strictly Come Grating - Like the dancing show, a male grater dances with different female contestants (a carrot, an orange, a corn on the cob). But he accidentally grates them during the dance!
- Alarming Clock - A cheeky alarm clock loves to wake up sleeping OOglies with its loud ring. This usually backfires on the clock itself.
- The Party Box Gang - A group of Christmas decorations play a silly game of musical chairs in their box. If one is left out, they find a way to get a chair from someone else.
- Grumpy Ball and Bouncy Ball - A small, red, grumpy basketball is always annoyed by his cheerful, green bouncy ball brother. Grumpy usually finds a way to stop Bouncy from bouncing.
- Bonkers Conkers - Two conkers try to knock each other off a rope. They even use armor and ray guns to try and win!
- The Inquisitive Mushrooms - A tray of mushrooms who only say "oogah" find strange things to explore. They show each other items like a computer scanner or keyboard.
- Frantic Fan - A large fan is usually reading a book. He gets annoyed by other OOglies and tries to blow them away. Sometimes, he's used as a "wind machine" for stunts.
- The DIY Doughnuts - Two doughnuts are builders who get orders from their boss, a chocolate doughnut. They always make a huge mess, which makes their boss angry, and he often ends up in the mess too!
- Meatball and the Pasta Olympics - A small meatball tries to be brave in the OOglies' version of the Olympics. She often crashes herself or other food items. In the last episode, she accidentally throws herself into the audience and decides to just watch the games.
- Rubber's Got Talent - Like the "Got Talent" shows, rubber contestants try to impress judges (a crayon, scissors, and a calculator) with wild stunts. They only impress the judges when they mess up their stunts!
- Strong Man Monkey Nut - A crazy monkeynut tries to lift heavy objects. But he always crashes his shell, and the smaller nuts inside escape.
- Mr Magnetic - A magnet wearing sunglasses tries to get away from anything metal. He doesn't have much luck!
- Whistle and Marshmallows - A busy blue whistle herds its flock of marshmallows like a sheepdog. But one pink marshmallow always lets the others escape its basket.
- The Farty Pants - A group of pants play silly games around the house. A pair of boxers often becomes the victim of their games.
- Action Hero Sock - An Indiana Jones-like sock tries to cross a pit full of belt snakes. He always fails, just like Indiana Jones is afraid of snakes!
- The Chilli Peppers - A group of wild chilli peppers run around an unsuspecting OOglie food item, making them "cook." A single chilli then follows to add a "last touch."
- The Makeup Makeover Crew - A group of female makeup items give surprise makeovers to OOglies passing by their dressing table.
- The Sneaky Remote Control! A sly remote control messes up the different sketches. It changes the screen color, the volume, the background, or fast-forwards, rewinds, and pauses the OOglies.
- At the end of each show, a walnut plays a guitar and whistles the OOglies theme song as the credits roll. But he always gets squashed, smashed, or interrupted! In the very last episode, he's joined by other characters for a final performance and a farewell.
- Another common sketch shows household objects freaking out when they "react." This could be a telephone ringing, a toilet flushing, or a TV changing channels.
- OOt-takes - These are special mini-episodes found on the CBBC website. They show "bloopers" and "behind the scenes" footage of the OOglies' sketches.
