The 1999–2000 NHL season was the 83rd regular season for the National Hockey League (NHL). During this exciting season, 28 teams played 82 games each. The New Jersey Devils won their second ever Stanley Cup championship. They beat the Dallas Stars, who were the champions from the year before.

Something special about this season was that no player scored 100 points or more. This had not happened in a full NHL season since 1967-68!
