The Asia Masters Athletics Championships are a big sports event held every two years. They are organized by Asia Masters Athletics (AMA). This group is one of six main parts of World Masters Athletics (WMA). WMA is the global group that manages sports for older athletes.

These championships happen in the years when the World Masters Athletics Championships are not taking place. During the event, there's also a meeting called the Asia Masters General Assembly. This is where leaders from different countries decide where future championships will be held.

Taipei, Taiwan hosted the championships in 2012. This was important because China, a member of AMA, had previously made it difficult for Taiwan to host. This event showed a positive step in the relationship between the two places.

The last AMA Championships took place from December 2 to 6, 2019, in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. After the Covid-19 pandemic, the next event was held from November 8 to 12, 2023, in New Clark City, Capas, Tarlac, Philippines.

The next AMA Championships (the 23rd event) are planned for 2025 in Indonesia.
