The Australia men's national volleyball team is also known as the Volleyroos. They are the official volleyball team for Australia. As of September 2021, they were ranked 28th in the world. The team is part of the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC). Their best achievement was winning the Asian Men's Volleyball Championship in 2007.
The Volleyroos first played in the FIVB World League in 1999. They did not compete again for many years due to money issues. In 2014, Australia rejoined the World League. They finished 5th out of 28 teams that year. In 2015, they played again and ranked 8th out of 32 teams. They even won against strong teams like Italy and Serbia. This showed they were getting closer to being among the world's best. The Australian Volleyball Federation started in 1963. Since then, volleyball has become very popular, especially in schools.
