Buttes was a small town, also known as a municipality, in Switzerland. It was located in the Val-de-Travers area. This region is part of the canton of Neuchâtel.
Buttes was an independent municipality for many years. However, on January 1, 2009, it joined with several other nearby towns. These towns included Boveresse, Couvet, Fleurier, Les Bayards, Môtiers, Noiraigue, Saint-Sulpice, and Travers. Together, they formed a new, larger municipality called Val-de-Travers. This change helped the towns work together more closely.
