Cambodia is a country in Southeast Asia. It has sent athletes to the Summer Olympic Games ten times. So far, Cambodian athletes have not won any Olympic medals. Cambodia has never taken part in the Winter Olympic Games.
Cambodia first joined the Olympics in 1956. The main games were in Melbourne, Australia. However, Cambodia only sent athletes to the horse riding events. These events were held in Stockholm, Sweden. This was because of rules about animal travel and a political protest.
After the 1972 Summer Olympics, Cambodia did not compete for 24 years. This was due to a very difficult period in the country's history. Cambodia finally returned to the Olympics in 1996. Since then, they have competed in every Summer Olympic Games.
