The Cautín Province (called Provincia de Cautín in Spanish) is one of two main areas, or provinces, in the Araucanía Region of Chile. It's like a big county within a state. The most important city and the capital of Cautín Province is Temuco.

Cautín Province is located in the southern part of the Araucanía Region. It covers a large area of about 18,409 square kilometers (7,108 square miles). The capital city, Temuco, is right in the middle of the province.

Climate in Cautín Province

The climate in Temuco, the capital, is a Mediterranean climate. This means it has warm, dry summers and mild, wet winters. It's also known as a Marine West Coast Climate.
