Musti is a cute animated TV show from Flanders, Belgium. It was created by Ray Goossens and first shown in 1968. Over the years, the show has been updated with newer animation styles, even becoming 3D in 2007!

About the Show

The main character, Musti, is a sweet little cat who acts like a child. He lives with his mom and dad, and has many friends like Mr. Rabbit, Miss Tortoise, Miss Hedgehog, and Mr. Dog. Each story is simple and usually lasts about five minutes. The show is made especially for very young children, like toddlers.

In total, 156 episodes of Musti have been made. These episodes have been shown in many countries around the world, including Belgium, the Netherlands, Canada, Turkey, and Japan.

Newer Episodes

In 2007, a brand new series of Musti was created. The older episodes used flat, 2D animation with a plain white background. The new series, however, uses modern 3D animation. This updated version of the show airs in Belgium, the Netherlands, Israel, Norway, Japan, Croatia, Portugal, and the United States on BabyFirst TV. The TV channel Al-Jazeera also shows the series to audiences across the Arabic world.

Who Tells the Story?

The original narrator for Musti was Rachel Frederix. Since 2007, the stories have been told by Kristel Van Craen.

In the Netherlands, Musti first appeared on television in 1980. The narrators there were Arnold Gelderman and Marijke Merckens. For viewers in the United States, the series was shown on BabyFirst TV.

In France, Belgium, and French Canada, the narrator for the 3D series since 2007 has been Emmanuelle Delchambre.

Musti Books

The Flemish publisher Standaard Uitgeverij has many Musti children's books. These books are made for kids aged 3 to 6 years old.
