Dimitri Leslie Roger (born July 13, 1992), known as Rich the Kid, is an American rapper. He started by releasing many independent mixtapes. In 2017, he signed with Interscope Records. He then released his first studio album, The World Is Yours (2018). This album was very popular. It included hit songs like "New Freezer" (with Kendrick Lamar) and "Plug Walk". The album reached number two on the Billboard 200 chart.
His next albums, The World Is Yours 2 (2019) and Boss Man (2020), also did well. They reached numbers four and 24 on the chart. Rich the Kid has also worked with other artists on mixtapes. These include Nobody Safe (2020) with YoungBoy Never Broke Again. He also released Trust Fund Babies (2021) with Lil Wayne. In 2016, he started his own record label called Rich Forever Music. He signed rappers like Famous Dex and Jay Critch to his label.
In 2024, his song "Carnival" became a huge success. It was with ¥$ (Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign) and featured Playboi Carti. This song reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Early Life and Beginnings
Dimitri Leslie Roger was born in Queens, New York City, on July 13, 1992. His family is from Haiti. He grew up speaking Haitian Creole fluently. When he was 13, his parents divorced. He then moved with his mother to College Park, Georgia.
Rich the Kid shared that he listened to many famous rappers growing up. These included Nas, Jay-Z, 2Pac, and Notorious B.I.G.. After moving to Georgia, he started listening to artists like T.I. and Young Jeezy. His first rap name was Black Boy Da Kid. Later, he changed it to Rich the Kid. He went to Elmont Memorial Junior – Senior High School in Elmont, New York.

Early Mixtapes and Rich Forever Music
In 2013, Rich the Kid released his first solo mixtape, Been About the Benjamins. That same year, he started a mixtape series with Migos. It was called Streets On Lock. They released four volumes of this series until 2015. His second solo mixtape, Feels Good 2 Be Rich, came out in August 2014. It featured many artists like Migos, Young Thug, and Soulja Boy.
In November 2014, he released the song "On My Way". It featured GS9 artists, Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel. In December 2014, his third mixtape Rich Than Famous was released. It included collaborations with YG, Migos, and Gucci Mane.
In 2015, Rich the Kid released Still On Lock with Migos. In August 2015, he released Flexin' on Purpose. This project had 14 songs. It featured artists like Master P, Young Dolph, and Ty Dolla $ign. Later that year, he released Streets On Lock 4 with Migos.
Rich the Kid and iLoveMakonnen released Whip It in November 2015. It had 8 tracks. The next month, Dabbin Fever came out on Christmas Eve 2015. It featured Wiz Khalifa, Migos, and 21 Savage. Rise to Fame and The World Is Yours
In May 2017, Rich the Kid was featured on the Diplo song, "Bankroll". This song also included Rich Brian and Young Thug. On June 9, 2017, Rich the Kid announced he had signed with Interscope Records.
He released the single "New Freezer" with Kendrick Lamar on September 26, 2017. This song was his first to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It reached number 41. On February 9, 2018, Rich the Kid released "Plug Walk". This became his highest-charting single at the time. It peaked at number 13 on the Hot 100. A remix of "Plug Walk" was released in June 2018. It featured Gucci Mane, YG, and 2 Chainz.
His debut studio album, The World Is Yours, came out with these singles. It featured many guest artists. These included Lil Wayne, Swae Lee, Quavo, and Chris Brown. The album debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart. This was his second album to reach the top 10 in the US.

On January 9, 2019, Rich released the music video for "Splashin". On March 1, 2019, he released "4 Phones". He also announced his second album, The World Is Yours 2. The album's third single, "Tic Toc" with Tory Lanez, came out on March 14, 2019. The World Is Yours 2 featured artists like Big Sean, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, and Lil Pump. The album debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200 US albums chart.
In December 2019, Rich the Kid left Interscope Records. He then signed with Republic Records. He released "That's Tuff" featuring Quavo as the first single for his next album. The second single, "Money Talk" with YoungBoy Never Broke Again, came out in January 2020. His third album, Boss Man, was released on March 13, 2020. It featured Lil Baby, DaBaby, Nicki Minaj, and Post Malone.
In February 2020, Rich left Republic Records. He signed a distribution deal with Empire Distribution. On October 16, 2020, Rich teamed up with NBA YoungBoy for "Bankroll". Their collaborative mixtape, Nobody Safe, was released on November 20.
On April 14, 2021, Rich the Kid signed a deal with Rostrum Records. He then released "Feelin' Like Tunechi" with Lil Wayne on October 1, 2021. Their collaborative mixtape, Trust Fund Babies, was released on the same day.
Recent Projects and Life's A Gamble
On November 14, 2022, Rich the Kid signed with RCA Records. He released the single "Motion".
In mid-2023, he started working on Rich Forever 5. He announced that he, Famous Dex, and Jay Critch were working together again. They released "Big Dawg" in December 2023. The trio then released "Rich & Reckless" in January 2024. Rich also announced his fourth album title, Life's A Gamble. On February 10, 2024, Rich the Kid was a guest performer on "Carnival". This song was by Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign. It became his first song to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
To build on this success, he released "Gimme a Second 2" on June 22, 2024. This song was a collaboration with West, featuring Ty Dolla Sign and Peso Pluma. It is the lead single for his album, Life's a Gamble.
Personal Life
Dimitri Roger has three children. He has faced some difficult situations. In June 2018, he was hospitalized after an incident at a home. In December 2018, he was in a UTV accident in California. He injured his hand. In February 2019, he was involved in another incident outside a recording studio.

In March 2016, Rich the Kid started his own record label. He named it Rich Forever Music. The first artist he signed was Famous Dex from Chicago. He also signed his first producer, The Lab Cook. In April 2016, Rich the Kid signed his second artist, rapper J $tash.
The label's first release was a 15-track collection called Rich Forever Music. It featured artists like Offset and Lil Yachty. After this release, J $tash left the label.
In June 2016, Rich the Kid made a deal. 300 Entertainment became a parent company for Rich Forever Music.
On July 4, 2016, Rich Forever Music released their second project. It was Rich Forever 2. This was a collaborative mixtape between Rich the Kid and Famous Dex. In February 2018, Rich the Kid signed Texas rapper Almighty Jay. However, in March 2018, YBN Almighty Jay and Rich the Kid had a disagreement. Rich the Kid released a song called Back Quick without YBN Almighty Jay's permission. In April 2018, YBN Almighty Jay said in an interview that he was never officially signed with the label.
In May 2018, Famous Dex said he had left Rich Forever Music. He stated he was an independent artist. But soon after, Rich the Kid said on the label's Instagram page that Famous Dex was still signed.
