Tangled is a popular Disney story series. It all started with the animated movie Tangled in 2010. This movie was directed by Nathan Greno and Byron Howard. The story is based on the old German fairy tale called "Rapunzel" by the Brothers Grimm.

The Tangled world includes the main movie, a video game, a short film, a musical show, and a TV series. There's even a TV movie that connects the stories.

The Main Movie

Tangled is a 2010 computer-animated musical fantasy-comedy film. It was made by Walt Disney Animation Studios. This movie is the 50th Disney animated feature film. It tells the story of Rapunzel, a lost princess with very long, magical hair. She wants to see the world outside her hidden tower.

Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi are the voices of the main characters. Rapunzel meets a charming intruder and goes on an adventure. Alan Menken, a famous composer, wrote the music for the film.

The Short Film

Disney released a short movie called Tangled Ever After in 2012. This short film shows what happens on Rapunzel and Eugene's wedding day. It's a fun look at their special event.

The TV Movie

A TV movie, Tangled: Before Ever After, came out on March 10, 2017. This movie takes place between the original Tangled film and the Tangled Ever After short. It also worked as a pilot episode for the TV series.

The TV Series

A TV series based on the movie started on Disney Channel on March 24, 2017. It's called Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure. The series tells more stories that happen between the first movie and the wedding short. Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi returned to voice Rapunzel and Eugene.

Tangled was also turned into a stage musical! It first showed on the Disney Magic cruise ship on November 11, 2015. The musical includes three brand new songs by Alan Menken and Glenn Slater. These new songs are "Flower of Gold," "Wanted Man," and "When She Returns." The show is shorter than the movie, lasting about one hour.

  • A video game based on the movie came out on November 23, 2010. It was available for Nintendo DS, Wii, and PC.
  • The character Rapunzel is a playable figure in the Disney Infinity video game series. You can use her in all three Disney Infinity games.
  • A world inspired by Tangled, called "Kingdom of Corona," appears in the video game Kingdom Hearts III.
