The Wacky Adventures of Ronald McDonald was a fun animated show that came out on VHS tapes. It was made by Klasky Csupo (who also made Rugrats) and McDonald's. The show was all about Ronald McDonald and his friends from McDonaldland. There were six episodes in total, each about 40 minutes long. You could buy these tapes only at McDonald's restaurants from October 1998 to January 2003.

Making the Show

The music for The Wacky Adventures of Ronald McDonald was created by Mark Mothersbaugh and Bob Mothersbaugh. They are famous for being in the band Devo. They also wrote music for another popular Klasky Csupo show, Rugrats.

The first episode was directed by John Holmquist. He also directed some episodes of Rugrats. The cartoon style of this show looked a lot like other Klasky Csupo cartoons. These included Rugrats, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, The Wild Thornberrys, and Rocket Power.

Each episode of the show started and ended with live-action parts. This was similar to how shows like The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! worked.

The VHS tapes of the show were very popular. Many McDonald's restaurants often ran out of them! You could buy a tape for $3.49. Sometimes, you could get it with a small vanilla ice cream cone or a Diet Coke. The company that made the show, Klasky Csupo, also sold the tapes online for a while.

In 1999, McDonald's released a Happy Meal with Lego vehicles. Each vehicle had a picture of a McDonaldland character on it, drawn in the same style as the show.

Meet the Voices

Many talented voice actors worked on the show. Some of them, like Christine Cavanaugh, Kath Soucie, and Charlie Adler, also worked on other Klasky Csupo shows. The voice of Ronald McDonald was simply credited as "Himself."
