Battles and Treaties
- On March 5, French soldiers, led by Marshal Louis-Francois de Boufflers, started a siege of the town of Mons. This town was controlled by Spain at the time.
- The siege of Mons ended on March 29 when the city surrendered to the French.
- On October 3, an important agreement called the Treaty of Limerick was signed. This treaty aimed to protect the civil rights of Catholics in Ireland. However, many people felt its promises were not kept for long.
Changes in Power and Colonies
- In the Ottoman Empire, the ruler changed. Suleiman II, who had been emperor since 1687, was replaced by Ahmed II. Ahmed II would rule until 1695.
- In New England, a big change happened for the English colonies. The two separate colonies of Massachusetts Bay Colony and Plymouth Colony were joined together. The King and Queen of England made them one single colony.

- A period of unrest known as Leisler's Rebellion was happening in New York.
- On March 20, a new governor arrived in New York. After a long standoff, Jacob Leisler surrendered.
- Later, on May 16, Jacob Leisler was executed.

- On May 6, in Palma Majorca, a group of 219 Jews were forced to change their religion. Some tried to leave the island but faced severe punishment.
