The year 37 was an important time in the 1st century. It was a common year, meaning it did not have an extra day like a leap year, and it started on a Tuesday. People at the time knew it as the "Year of the Consulship of Proculus and Pontius." A Roman consul was like a top leader in the ancient Roman government.
